PERRY COUNTY — According to Perry County Prosecutor Samantha Hurst, Jeremy Galloway, former Indiana State Police trooper, has agreed to plead guilty open to the court to all charges associated with burning down his home, shed, attempting to set fire to his car and the killing of his dogs.
Galloway was accused of setting fire to his Tell City property October 2020. He was arrested in 2021 for insurance fraud.
For his plea of guilty, the Prosecutor's office has agreed, based on the charges and his lack of criminal history, to limit the sentence he faces to four years.
Honorable Robert Aylsworth will decide how long the Defendant's sentence will be within the range of two and four years. He will also decide how the Defendant serves that sentence.
The Prosecutor's office believes that he should be and will argue for that sentencing to be four years with all time served at the Indiana Department of Correction.
Hurst stated that the Defendant would be arguing for a suspended sentence.
Senior Judge Aylsworth will sentence the Defendant May 4 at 9 a.m.
