Insurer Begins Medicaid Coverage For Extra Patients In Iowa
DES MOINES- More than 200,000 people enrolled in Iowa’s privatized Medicaid program have been formally switched to new coverage following the abrupt exit of an insurance company. Iowa has had three private insurance companies- Amerigroup, AmeriHealth Caritas and UnitedHealthcare- providing Medicaid coverage since Iowa privatized the program in 2016.
