Insured Retirement Institute Issues Statement on Appointment of Froment to Federal Insurance Advisory Committee

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 -- The Insured Retirement Institute issued the following statement by President and CEO Wayne Chopus on the appointment of Ohio Insurance Department Director Jillian Froment to the Federal Insurance Advisory Committee:
"IRI congratulates Director Froment on her appointment to the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance.
"This body needs to have highly experienced state regulatory voices to provide the Federal Insurance Office with effective recommendations and guidance.
"Director Froment's home market of Ohio has an active insurance market that requires a knowledgeable regulator.
"Additionally, Director Froment's tenure as a member of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' executive committee and chair of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission (IIPRC) provides her with a wealth of additional experience that makes her a highly-qualified fit for this important role."
