Insurance Information Institute To Salute Resiliency Innovators at 2019’s InsureTech Connect Conference

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 -- The Insurance Information Institute issued the following news release:

The Resiliency Innovation Challenge will conclude on Wednesday, Sept. 25, as three companies vie for the top honor in a competition co-hosted by the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) and InsureTech Connect (ITC).

"This Challenge offered a perfect illustration of how innovators are improving the insurance industry's value chain while also enhancing their customers' resilience to natural disasters," stated Sean Kevelighan, CEO, I.I.I. A big thanks to the 900 InsureTech Connect conference attendees for their participation in the Resiliency Innovation Challenge's preliminary voting as well as to InsureTech Connect CEO Jay Weintraub and the event team for all of their support of this important endeavor."

We expect the on-site judges at the final pitch event will face a similar dilemma, but a winner will be crowned. The three I.I.I./ITC Resiliency Innovation Challenge finalists are:

Each of the finalists will make their final pitches before a panel of on-site judges on Wednesday, Sept. 25, between 2 and 2:50 p.m., PST, as part of ITC's 2019 conference. The annual gathering is being held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev. The I.I.I.'s Kevelighan is serving as the Challenge's master of ceremonies.

Among the judges are:

* Arlene Kern, Strategic Innovation Scout, Munich Re

* Kevin D. Pray, Vice President, Innovation, The Hanover Insurance Group

The winner of the Resiliency Innovation Challenge will gain widespread exposure to the I.I.I.'s member companies, a group which includes the U.S.'s largest property/casualty insurers and reinsurers, as well as the ITC's network of technology entrepreneurs and investors.
