Week 7: Attacking Illinoisans' Healthcare

Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege, but it's clear Bruce Rauner doesn't agree. He's spent four years attacking Illinoisans' healthcare -- staying silent while Republicans in Washington voted to eliminate protections for pre-existing conditions, grossly mismanaging Medicaid, and creating a budget crisis that slashed mental, rural, and women's healthcare across the state.

While Democrats defended President Obama's landmark Affordable Care Act, Bruce Rauner helped Donald Trump dismantle it and gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Bipartisan governors across America spoke out against Republican attacks on healthcare, but Rauner was utterly silent despite the fact that a million Illinoisans' coverage was threatened. Just months ago, Rauner vetoed a bill to protect coverage for Illinoisans with pre-existing conditions and limit junk healthcare plans, advancing Trump's agenda once again. Meanwhile, JB Pritzker has fought Trump's attacks and ran an advertising campaign to promote Obamacare enrollment in Illinois.
