HURRICANE MICHAEL: Resources and updates for Panama City/Panama City Beach

PANAMA CITY -- As it continues to wait for word from some employees after Hurricane Michael, Port Panama City expects to start providing limited service by the end of the week, port Director Wayne Stubbs said in a statement released Monday.

PANAMA CITY -- Regular household garbage pickup is beginning for several municipalities.

Panama City Beach has already resumed pickup.

Panama City resumed Monday for regular household garbage. If you need a new can, call 850-872-3172.

Lynn Haven will also be going back to their garbage pickup schedule on Tuesday.

PANAMA CITY -- T-Mobile will have a mobile truck at Sam's Club and Rutherford High School on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

PANAMA CITY -- All of Hancock Whitney's full service locations are open as of Monday.

PANAMA CITY -- The ASPCA has set up a headquarters at the Bay County Humane Society, 2100 Bay Avenue, to help owners reconnect with their lost pets.

Residents can bring found pets to the shelter. The Florida State Animal Response Coalition is also setting up a site at http://flsarc.org/ where pet owners can post photos of their lost pets.

According to the Salvation Army, mobile kitchens are currently set up and serving at the following locations:

9. Mexico Beach City Hall -- 201 Paradise Path, Mexico Beach

PANAMA CITY -- Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis announced Monday that his office's Division of Consumer Services will, in conjunction with FEMA, open an insurance village to assist area residents with storm-related claims.

The insurance village will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in the parking lot of the Sam's Club at 1707 W. 23rd St. in Panama City and as of Monday 24 insurance companies will be represented.

PANAMA CITY -- The pharmacy is now open at Sam's Club on 23rd Street. They are still waiving membership requirements to shop at the store.

PANAMA CITY -- As of Monday, October 15th, master meters are being opened which allows water to flow from Bay County's lines to our Panama City water lines. This means some customers will begin to have running water. At this time, crews are working to locate and repair any water leaks which could affect water flow to some areas of the city.

When your water is restored, DO NOT DRINK IT! There is a Boil Water Notice in effect for all of Bay County.

The sewer system is currently operating at 50 percent, so please limit use of water and sewer.
