WASHINGTON, Jan. 10 -- The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee issued the following news release:
Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers - Chair of the House Republican Conference - today repeated the Trump transition's promise that no one will lose healthcare coverage if the Affordable Care Act is repealed. This is a dramatic promise to make to voters, and one that is nearly impossible to keep given House Republicans' current plans to repeal ACA without any specific replacement plan in place.
"House Republican Leadership has now made a promise to the American people that no one will lose their health insurance as a result of their reckless plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act," said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law.
"This is a bright red line drawn on behalf of all House Republicans, and they will pay a steep political price if a single American loses their coverage."
