Higginbotham Adds Insurance Brokers in McAllen

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Weekly News -- Higginbotham has hired two insurance brokers at its office in McAllen, Texas. The firm named John Garcia an associate of employee benefits and Jordan Lewis an associate of business insurance. They join the office's four existing brokers and support staff to expand the group's capacity to provide Higginbotham's single source solution for insurance and financial services to local businesses.

Higginbotham is ranked by revenue as the largest independent insurance broker based in Texas. It operates 27 offices in Texas and Oklahoma that provide a broad range of insurance, risk management and benefit plan administration services to employers and individuals.

Managing Director Ben Smith said, "Customers can come to Higginbotham not just for insurance coverage, but also for support in loss prevention and human resources without additional costs. Bringing in John for employee benefits and Jordan for commercial insurance gives us more opportunities to offer our complete service lineup though our local office. Their added talent will help us keep growing in McAllen."

Garcia was most recently an agent at New York Life managing life insurance and annuities accounts. He graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American/University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Lewis came to Higginbotham from United Airlines where he was the general manager for operations and airport terminal services. He attended Texas Tech University and the University of Texas-Pan American/University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
