Heinrich In Albuquerque To Meet With Refugees And Immigrants, Host A Roundtable On Affordable Care Act And Tour A Small Business

Congressional Documents & Publications

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will be in Albuquerque Saturday, February 18, to meet with refugees and immigrants, along with advocates from Lutheran Family Services, the Islamic Center of New Mexico, Catholic Charities, and the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico, to discuss the impact President Trump's executive order banning refugees and individuals from Muslim-majority countries from entering our country has had on communities in New Mexico.

On Monday, February 20, Senator Heinrich will host a roundtable discussion at Project Echo in Albuquerque to hear from New Mexicans on how they are impacted by the Affordable Care Act. This is part of an ongoing effort to listen to constituents concerns and ensure that quality and affordable health care remains within reach for all New Mexicans. Last month, Senator Heinrich launched an online portal to collect stories about the critical importance of having access to quality, affordable health care.

Later that day in Albuquerque, Senator Heinrich will tour Pimentel & Sons, a successful family-owned small business that makes handcrafted instruments that are sought after by guitar players and collectors around the world. He will be joined by Small Business Administration District Director John Garcia.
