The name change comes on the heels of the company's $13 million Series A funding round, and better reflects its customer-centric focus and mission to make buying and using health insurance simple and transparent.The transition comes with a new website ( www.Joany.com), company logo and multimedia advertising campaign carrying the theme "Everyone Deserves Healthcare."

Christine and her co-founder, Helen Lee, have 15 years of experience in the health insurance industry and have worked together for more than a decade to help consumers better understand their health care options. The seasoned software engineers joined forces in 2014 to develop a solution for the complicated issues plaguing the consumer health insurance market and to revamp the nation's relationship with healthcare, bringing consumers, providers, insurance companies and policy makers together to shape the future of a symbiotic, healthy system (see also Impact Health).

JOANY is a free and unbiased online resource where consumers from all 50 states can easily research, purchase and manage health insurance plans. The company serves as both an advisor and advocate for consumers in the individual health care market where the detailed and ever-changing nuances of product offerings make both selecting a plan and understanding what coverage applies extremely difficult.
