PR Web

WASHINGTON (PRWEB) February 28, 2018

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP elevated to shareholder Cyril T. Brennan in the International Trade Practice and Emily G. Naughton in the Corporate Practice; the firm elevated Theresa A. Queen to of counsel in the Litigation Practice. Brennan resides in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, while Naughton and Queen reside in the firm's Northern Virginia office.

Firmwide, Greenberg Traurig announced the elevation of 42 attorneys to shareholder from 21 of the firm's offices and 14 practice areas, with female attorneys making up 50 percent of the new shareholder class. The firm also announced global revenues for FY2017 of $1,477,180,000, an increase of 7.28 percent over the prior year. This is the fourth consecutive year of record-setting revenues for the firm.

"Through their professionalism, hard work, and commitment to client service, Cy Brennan, Emily Naughton, and Teri Queen truly embody Greenberg Traurig's values," Washington, D.C. Co-Managing Shareholders Laura Metcoff Klaus and Robert Mangas said in a joint statement.

"We are incredibly proud of these young leaders, as their elevations are a testament to their commitment to their clients and their craft," Northern Virginia Co-Managing Shareholders Laura Foote Reiff and Michael R. Sklaire said in a joint statement. "We congratulate them and wish them much success in their new roles."

Brennan focuses his practice on international trade regulation and compliance, with an emphasis on U.S. export controls and economic sanctions. He handles matters regarding the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and U.S. sanctions programs administered by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Department of Commerce's anti-boycott regulations. In addition, he represents clients before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), and advises clients on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the foreign direct investment reporting requirements of the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), and other trade and investment-related regulations in the context of mergers and acquisitions.

Naughton focuses her practice on transactions in the telecommunications, media, and technology space, with an emphasis on cloud computing. She has represented clients in connection with real estate acquisitions, development projects and leases, mergers and acquisitions involving cloud service providers, and telecommunications network infrastructure deals. Naughton has represented some of the world's largest content providers globally in connection with network procurement and colocation and data center leases involving providers ranging from multinational companies to single facility operators. She has experience representing property owners in the acquisition, financing, and development of real estate; landlords and tenants in a variety of short- and long-term leases and subleases; and developers on complex land use and permitting matters. Naughton has also represented contractors and subcontractors in the negotiation of construction contracts and disputes.

Queen focuses her practice on complex litigation matters. She is experienced in dealing with government contracting disputes, business litigation, employment, appellate advocacy, mass tort, and product liability claims. Queen is also experienced in dealing with class action litigation for Fortune 100 and 500 companies as well as litigating complex toxic tort and environmental cases. Within the area of toxic tort, she has managed cases throughout the United States alleging personal injury due to chemical exposure. The medical allegations in these cases have included cancer, neurological injury, birth defects, and fear of future injury. She works with experts in a broad range of relevant scientific and medical disciplines and has interviewed and deposed scientific and medical experts and other witnesses and litigated complex causation issues. She has also defended PhDs facing allegations of scientific misconduct in areas including stem cell research and bioluminescent imaging.
