BATON ROUGE, La., Feb. 14 -- Gov. John Bel Edwards, D-La., issued the following news:

Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.

Gov. Edwards announced appointments to the following boards and commissions:

Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation

The Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation is a nonprofit organization created to provide insurance products for residential and commercial property applicants who are in good faith entitled, but unable, to procure insurance through the voluntary insurance marketplace.

William H. Waldrop III, of Zachary, was appointed to the Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. Mr. Waldrop is the vice president of sales for Louisiana Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company. As required by statute, he was nominated by the largest domestic property insurer in the state - Louisiana Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company.

Governor's Advisory Board of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention

The Governor's Advisory Board of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention serves to encourage and assist the state, units of local government, and private non-profit agencies in the comprehensive improvement of the juvenile justice system in the State of Louisiana. The Board assists in the establishment of juvenile justice policy by providing advice and counsel to the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement, the Louisiana Legislature, and the Governor of Louisiana on ways and means to facilitate greater juvenile justice system effectiveness.

Julio R. Galan, of Lake Charles, was reappointed to the Governor's Advisory Board of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Mr. Galan is the president and chief executive officer of the Family and Youth Counseling Agency. He will serve as a representative of a private nonprofit organization with a special focus on preserving and strengthening families, youth development, delinquency prevention, neglected children, and the quality of juvenile justice, education, and social services for children. Mr. Galan will serve as the chair of the Board.

Oilfield Site Restoration Commission

The Oilfield Site Restoration Commission serves to: (1) approve and evaluate a priority list for site restoration annually; (2) approve lists of Contractors acceptable to conduct site assessment and site restoration; (3) review administration of site restoration activities and review the adequacy of site restoration assessments and reopen the funding needs and arrangements for site-specific trust accounts every four years; and (4) provide general administration and management of the Oilfield Site Restoration Fund and all site-specific trust accounts.

Elizabeth A. "Lisa" Creasman, of Baton Rouge, was appointed to the Oilfield Site Restoration Commission. Ms. Creasman is the associate director of The Nature Conservancy in Louisiana. As required by statute, she was nominated by and will serve as the representative of The Nature Conservancy.

Gifford A. Briggs, of Lafayette, was appointed to the Oilfield Site Restoration Commission. Mr. Briggs is the acting president of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association. As required by statute, he was nominated by and will serve as a representative of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association.

Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission

The Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission functions to: (1) License manufacturers, retailers, developers, salesmen, and installers; (2) Work with manufactured home consumers, manufacturers, retailers, developers, salesmen, and installers to hear complaints and make determinations relating to construction defects, warranty issues, and service complaints; and (3) conduct hearings on any violation of the provisions of the law.

Gary P. Millet Sr., of Gonzales, was reappointed to the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission. Mr. Millet is the owner of Rollin Homes, Inc., and will serve as the representative of the 3rd Public Service Commission District.

Phillip David Ridder Jr., of Tickfaw, was appointed to the Louisiana Manufactured Housing Commission. Mr. Ridder is the owner of D.M.B. Mobile Homes and will serve as an at-large member.

Children's Cabinet Advisory Board

The Children's Cabinet Advisory Board provides information and recommendations from the perspective of advocacy groups, service providers, and parents to the Children's Cabinet.

Doris I. Heckert, of Baton Rouge, was appointed to the Children's Cabinet Advisory Board. Ms. Heckert is a fashion consultant with LulaRoe. She will serve as a parent representative on the Board.

Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council

The Louisiana Developmental Disability Council's mission is to lead and promote advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Randall W. Brown Jr., of Haughton, was reappointed to the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council. Mr. Brown works in internet sales with Wray Ford and volunteers with numerous charities. He will serve as an individual with a developmental disability on the Council.

Tara A. LeBlanc, of Gonzales, was reappointed to the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council. Ms. Brown is the Assistant Secretary of the Office of Aging and Adult Services within the Louisiana Department of Health and will serve as the representative of the Office of Aging and Adult Services.

W. Alan Coulter, Ph.D., of Slidell, was appointed to the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council. Mr. Coulter is the Director of Education Initiatives for the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He will serve as the representative of the LSUHSC Human Development Center.

Susan B. Buchert, of Baton Rouge, was appointed to the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council. Ms. Buchert is a program manager with the Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs and will serve as its representative on the Council.

Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal Authority

The Commissioners of the Authority serve as an oversight board for the development and operation of the Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal.

Dennis C. Crawford, of New Orleans, was reappointed to the Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal Authority. Mr. Crawford is the owner and president of Nola Fina, LLC. As required by statute, he was nominated by the Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Ascension-St. James Airport and Transportation Authority

The Ascension-St. James Airport and Transportation Authority is a public corporation and is authorized to perform in its corporate capacity all acts necessary and proper for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, maintaining, and operating Louisiana Regional Airport.

Cynthia M. Stafford, of Gonzales, was appointed to the Ascension-St. James Airport and Transportation Authority. Ms. Stafford is the president and owner of EastBank Realty and will serve as an at-large member. As required by statute, she was nominated by a legislator representing either Ascension or St. James Parish.

Louisiana Animal Welfare Commission

The Louisiana Animal Welfare Commission was created within the office of the governor for the purpose of assisting the governor's office of community programs to ensure and promote the proper treatment and well-being of animals.

Jessica L. Ibert, of New Orleans, was appointed to the Louisiana Animal Welfare Commission. Ms. Ibert is an attorney with Lewis, Kullman, Sterbcow and Abramson and will serve as an at-large member on the Commission.

Amanda L. Mars, of Logansport, was appointed to the Louisiana Animal Welfare Commission. Ms. Mars is an administrative assistant to the administrator of the DeSoto Parish Police Jury. She is a member of the Louisiana Quarter Horse Association and will serve as its representative on the Commission.

Donna H. Bishop, D.V.M., of Shreveport, was appointed to the Louisiana Animal Welfare Commission. Dr. Bishop is a veterinarian with the Caddo Parish Animal Shelter. She will serve as a small animal veterinarian on the Commission.

Mary Lee Oliphant, of Bush, was reappointed to the Louisiana Animal Welfare Commission. Ms. Oliphant is a realtor associate with Gardner Realtors and a dog breeder. She will serve as a commercial dog breeder on the Commission.

Elizabeth "Rae" McManus, of Atlanta, was appointed to the Louisiana Animal Welfare Commission. Ms. McManus is a district leader volunteer for The Humane Society of the United States and will serve as a representative of a humane society on the Commission. Louisiana Folklife Commission

The Louisiana Folklife Commission advises the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism's Office of Cultural Development on policy, objectives, and budgeting needs in the identification, preservation, and presentation of Louisiana folk cultural resources.

Erik S. Kreusch, of New Orleans, was appointed to the Louisiana Folklife Commission. Mr. Kreusch is an archeologist and cultural resource program manager with the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve and will serve as the park's representative on the Commission.

Jessica G. Richardson, of Baton Rouge, was appointed to the Louisiana Folklife Commission. Ms. Richardson is a national register coordinator in the Office of Cultural Development's Division of Historic Preservation and will serve as the division's representative on the Commission.

Charles R. "Chip" McGimsey, of Breaux Bridge, was reappointed to the Louisiana Folklife Commission. Mr. McGimsey is the State Archeologist and will serve as the representative of the Division of Archeology on the Commission.

State Parks and Recreation Commission

The State Parks and Recreation Commission promotes the goals and objectives of the Office of State Parks, acts in an advisory capacity to the Office, and screens qualified projects for federal grants administered by the Office.

Marieanne G. Arata, of Waggaman, was appointed to the State Parks and Recreation Commission. Ms. Arata is retired. She serves as a board member on the LSU AgCenter's Louisiana Volunteers for Family and Community, Jefferson Volunteers for Family and Community, Friends of Jefferson the Beautiful, and the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, among others. As required by statute, she was nominated by and will serve as a representative of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation.

Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners

The Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners is responsible for examining, licensing, and regulating qualified applicants as radiologic technologists and for protecting the public from the misuse of ionizing radiation.

Gregory L. "Greg" Bradley, of Lake Charles, was appointed to the Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. Mr. Bradley is a licensed radiologic technologist and the department head of Radiologic and Medical Laboratory Sciences at McNeese State University. As required by statute, he was nominated by the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Louisiana State Board of Dentistry

The mission of the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry is to protect the public by regulating the professions of dentistry and dental hygiene in Louisiana in accordance with the Dental Practice Act.

Jay C. Dumas, D.D.S., of New Orleans, was appointed to the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry. Dr. Dumas is a dentist and the dental director with the Daughters of Charity.

Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans

The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans regulates the commerce and traffic of the port and harbor of New Orleans. The Board administers the public wharves, docks, sheds, and landings of the port which are owned and operated by the Board. The Board finances and constructs wharves and other structures necessary for the operation of the port and maintains said wharves and other structures, including the depths of water fronting said developments. The Board also provides light, water, police protection, and other services it deems advisable to such wharves and facilities and shall charge for the use of all facilities administered by the Board and for all services rendered such fees, rates, tariffs or other charges as it may establish.

Darryl D. Berger, of New Orleans, was appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans. Mr. Berger is the chairman and chief executive officer of The Berger Company, Inc. As required by statute, was nominated by the Orleans Parish Nominating Organization.

Louisiana Board of Professional Geoscientists

The Louisiana Board of Professional Geoscientists serves to protect the health, safety, and general welfare of all those persons engaged in the practice of geoscience, and affords such persons an effective and practical protection against the incompetent, inexperienced, unlawful, and fraudulent acts of geoscientists with whom they contract.

Lloyd G. Hoover, of Shreveport, was reappointed to the Louisiana Board of Professional Scientists. Mr. Hoover is a licensed engineer with ATC Associates Group Services, LLC. As required by statute, he was nominated by the Louisiana Engineering Society and will serve as a licensed professional engineer on the Board.
