Global Insurance Symposium Announces Registration And New Co-Chairs

DES MOINES, Iowa, Jan. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Global Insurance Symposium announced registration for the 2019 event has officially opened. This year, approximately 700 insurance and technology leaders from around the globe will gather in Des Moines, Iowa, for the 2019 Global Insurance Symposium on April 23-25. The annual symposium provides a venue for the insurance industry to address important issues impacting the marketplace with a primary focus on technology, policy, and innovation.

The Global Insurance Symposium planning committee is also pleased to announce two new leaders for the 2019 event, co-chairs Erik Askelsen (Faegre Baker Daniels) and Nathan Schelhaas (Principal Financial Group).

As a partner at Faegre Baker Daniels, Erik Askelsen helps insurance clients develop and implement strategies and respond to the challenges they face. Askelsen understands the regulatory, corporate, transactional, product, governance, government relations, and market conduct issues of the insurance industry.

Nathan Schelhaas serves as a vice president and actuary in the Individual Life Division of Principal Financial Group. Schelhaas has been with Principal for 20 years and has held multiple roles. His designations include fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
