Ms. Boughn previously served in several CMS leadership roles, including Chief Information Officer; Deputy Director of the CMS Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI); Deputy Director of the Center for Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Services (CMCS); Director of the Information Services Modernization group; and Director of the Office of Information Services (OIS).

Chris Brandt, Managing Partner at Ai, stated, "At every stage of her career, Julie has demonstrated deep commitment to modernizing enterprise health IT and systems, and improving care coordination, healthcare delivery, and population health nationwide. She will have a significant impact leading our strategy and business diversification in working with Federal and State health customers and agencies."

Commenting on her new role at Ai, Julie Boughn said, "I am thrilled to have joined the dynamic team at Audacious Inquiry. Ai's mission to deliver bold solutions in support of health system transformation and commitment to their clients and to being socially accountable strongly influenced my decision to join the Ai team." She further commented, "Federal and State health care programs ensure that more than one-third of our nation's population receive high quality, cost-effective care. I am excited and humbled to be part of a team that is as passionate as I am about the programs and the people they serve."

During her tenure at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Ms. Boughn provided leadership to both program implementation and policy development, including the design and implementation of Advanced Payment Models such as Pioneer Accountable Care Organizations, modernized Medicaid eligibility systems in states, and the implementation of the Medicare Part D program. She has overseen information security and privacy programs, and multi-billion dollar investment portfolios. Julie was recognized with a Presidential Rank Meritorious Executive Award and the CMS Employee's Choice Award for Executive Leadership. Prior to Ai, Ms. Boughn was Chief Innovation Officer at Cognosante LLC. She earned a M.S. in Information Systems and Technology from Johns Hopkins University, and holds M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from the University of Maryland.

Ai leverages domain expertise in health information technology and policy to offer bold solutions that are leading the way to smarter delivery of healthcare. Government, private and nonprofit organizations have turned to Ai to rethink how health information is shared, managed, and protected. Ai's implementation of master data management (MDM) tools to enable health information exchange has set the standard for health information organizations and HIOs throughout the nation. Ai's Encounter Notification Service® (ENS®) provides real-time hospital inpatient and ED admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) event notifications and clinical summaries, to primary care providers, payers and other stakeholders of care.
