PR Newswire

SAN FRANCISCO and BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Oct. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, a retail property, casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant, announced today that Senior Client Executive Jeremiah Glassford has been named a 2018 Veteran of Influence by Birmingham Business Journal.

The 2018 Veterans of Influence Awards honors the men and women who have served our country and have made a place for themselves in Birmingham's business world. Winners have a strong record of innovation or outstanding performance in their work and are actively involved in the community.

"Jeremiah's experience as a litigation attorney and a noncommissioned officer in high-risk combat zones give him a very unique perspective to help our clients identify and successfully manage complex risks," said Crawford McInnis, managing principal at EPIC. "His military background and business experience make him an unparalleled leader and we are proud to have him on our team."

Glassford has served in the U.S. Army since 1999, including three tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq with extensive leadership and risk management/safety training. He currently serves on the U.S. Army Reserve's Regional Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer Team for FEMA Region IV, where he coordinates Department of Defense military assistance to other federal agencies, state governments and civilian authorities during large-scale disaster response operations.

Prior to joining EPIC, Glassford was a commercial litigator with Birmingham-based law firm Balch & Bingham who he represented clients throughout the country, ranging from private equity investors and public utilities to product manufacturers and insurance companies, in commercial litigation involving contract disputes, insurance coverage issues, business torts and unfair competition, financial services, products liability, intellectual property and trade secrets, class actions, and health care issues.

He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, where was on the President's List and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. He earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law. He also received ratings of "exceeded course standards" and graduated in the top 20% of every U.S. Army leadership course he attended: Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course.
