DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ EMC Insurance Group Inc. (EMCI) on Friday reported a first-quarter loss of $76,000, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Des Moines, Iowa-based company said it had a loss of less than 1 cent on a per-share basis. Earnings, adjusted for investment costs, were 19 cents per share.
The insurance holding company posted revenue of $168.8 million in the period.
EMC Insurance Group expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.10 to $1.30 per share.
EMC Insurance Group shares have dropped slightly more than 9 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped slightly more than 7 percent in the last 12 months.
