eGroup Expands into the North Florida Market; Jacksonville-Based Scott Owen Joins to Lead Sales and Customer Service Efforts

PR Web

Mount Pleasant, SC (PRWEB) August 28, 2014

eGroup, the Southeast's leading provider of cloud, application and end-user computing services, today announced its geographic expansion into North Florida. Given eGroup's deep experience in working with Southeast-based Finance, Insurance, Logistics and Distribution, Manufacturing and Healthcare organizations, Jacksonville serves as a logical area of growth for the company.

"We see many similarities between the metro area of our corporate headquarters, Charleston, and the metro area of Jacksonville – especially around IT innovation and how the latest technology can be used for competitive advantage," said Mike Carter, Principal, eGroup. "In our due diligence, we found the market to be drastically underserved by solution providers who have the diverse infrastructure, application and mobility expertise and experience in solving the most complex IT challenges. Jacksonville organizations looking to achieve faster, better, and less expensive computing experiences shouldn't have to look to national providers to help realize those goals. We look forward to serving the 'Serious Competitors' of Jacksonville, and all of North Florida, in the coming years."

Scott Owen, based in Jacksonville, will work closely with eGroup Leadership to drive the company's sales and customer service efforts across North Florida.

Scott, a 12-year veteran of the technology industry, came to eGroup from Dell, where he served in numerous inside and field sales management roles throughout his tenure. In 2012, he was awarded National Account Executive of the Year by Dell with an average of 131 percent attainment to quota.

"Our expansion into the North Florida market is central in eGroup's corporate growth strategy. In order to ensure immediate success, it was critical we bring on a sales leader with demonstrated local market success and unmatched customer service expertise – we found all that and more in Scott," said Mike Stokes, Director of Sales and Marketing, eGroup. "I'm excited to work alongside Scott in delivering the eGroup brand and diverse offerings to North Florida businesses."

"After serving this geographic market for many years, I've found a critical need for solution providers like eGroup. Not just any provider, but one who can deliver services and successful outcomes across the spectrum of datacenter, application and end-user computing technologies, as well as managed services," commented Scott. "I am ecstatic to work for a growing company where everyone is integral to the success of the overall organization. It really feels like a team at eGroup, and I'm looking forward to serving all of my customers in this region."

Prior to Dell, Scott worked as a System Engineer at Meridium, a global leader in asset performance management (APM) software and services. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Auburn University.
