Duval & Stachenfeld LLP Announces Jessica Millett as Co-Chair of Tax Practice

Ms. Millett joined Duval & Stachenfeld LLP in 2012 after beginning her career at Linklaters in their prestigious global tax group. Ms. Millett's practice focuses on the U.S. tax issues that arise in real estate transactions, with particular expertise in navigating complex cross-border real estate deals. She advises clients on tax structuring and documentation for real estate acquisitions, joint ventures, platforms, restructurings and refinancing arrangements, including inbound and outbound investments, and structures involving REITs. She represents commercial real estate developers, as well as investors such as sovereign wealth funds, overseas pension funds, REITs, and sponsors and managers of, and institutional investors in, private investment funds including real estate and distressed debt.

Ms. Millett is known by both her colleagues at D&S and clients alike to be particularly adept at translating complicated tax concepts into practical advice. She also keeps her clients and colleagues up to date on new developments in tax law relevant to the real estate industry, either through written articles or by hosting presentations, and she has been a speaker at ABA Tax Section meetings.
