New health insurance agency opens doors in Hermiston
Goller, who has spent much of his career in the insurance industry, said he wanted to tailor his agency to provide answers to the myriad of questions people have regarding health insurance. He said he spent a good deal of time visualizing the type of insurance agency he wanted to own.
"I was looking at the next step in my career," he said. "Having my own agency and serving my community was something I was interested in. I really want an emphasis on personal service."
Although he said he may branch out to other types of insurance in the future, Goller's sole focus for now is health insurance.
"It's an area that I have spent the lion's share of my time," he said.
Navigating the market
Goller said navigating the health insurance market can be a daunting and confusing experience.
"For people approaching Medicare, it's an alphabet soup and every plan has a different letter," he said. "It's important to give them advice and help them make good decisions for themselves and their families."
Goller said people need to be aware of major changes to the health insurance marketplace. The Affordable Care Act has been severely affected by the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which introduced strict verification rules, ended automatic re-enrollment, and contributed to millions dropping coverage.
"There's going to be a major shift in the coming year," Goller said. "This is not a year for people in the individual marketplace to stand pat and think that everything's going to be the same. It's not. They are going to want to engage in the process proactively knowing there are big changes coming."
For now, Goller is a one-man operation, but expects to add staff as the agency grows.
