Disappointed in Senator Daines

It’s difficult to put into words how deeply disappointing U.S. Sen. Steve Daines has been for Montanans when it comes to the health care debate around repealing Obamacare.

You were elected to be a thoughtful, deliberate leader and a fiercely loyal representative of Montana in the U.S. Senate.

For months, you claimed over and over again that you wanted to protect the people who were meant to be served by Medicaid and that you wanted to listen to the people of Montana before choosing a side in the health care debate. It’s clear that you did neither of those things.

Montana families deserve better. We deserve a leader in the Senate who takes a firm stand on important legislation that will impact every citizen. It is beyond disappointing that you chose to engage in political grandstanding and offering up sham "single payer” bills as a way to troll your colleagues in the Senate instead of heeding the call to work in a bipartisan fashion to work on making health care more affordable for Montanans.

Get to work. We deserve better.
