Delta Dental of Tennessee has announced the appointment of industry veteran Barry Boster as its chief revenue officer.
According to a release, Boster brings more than 30 years of experience in the employee benefits industry to what is a new position for the company.
Boster joins Delta Dental of Tennessee from Lockton, which bills itself as the world's largest independent and privately held insurance brokerage firm. As director of client services, Boster led Lockton's Tennessee People Solutions consulting practice, overseeing a market that generated 32 percent year-over-year revenue growth last year.
Previously, Boster worked for Cigna in various roles across underwriting, account management and new business sales. He also spent 18 years with Humana as the commercial market leader in Tennessee, responsible for membership and revenue growth, market profitability and strategic planning.
A two-time graduate of Belmont University, Boster holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and an MBA from Belmont's Massey School of Business. He played baseball for Belmont and was named an Academic All-American.
"Barry's terrific experience, reputation, proven ability to drive growth, and commitment to fostering strong partnerships align perfectly with our goals and culture at Delta Dental of Tennessee," Jeff Ballard, Delta Dental of Tennessee president and CEO, said in the release.
"I am thrilled to welcome him to the team and look forward to seeing the positive impact that I know he will have on our company and the clients we serve."
