Collier County Board of County Commissioners Approves Relief Program for Qualifying Hurricane Victims

NAPLES, Fla., Oct. 11 -- Collier County issued the following news release:
On Tuesday, October 10, 2017, the Board of County Commissioners approved the use of State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds to provide Hurricane Irma disaster relief to qualifying Collier County citizens.
A limited pool of SHIP funds is being made available at varying income levels to assist homeowners with damages resulting from Hurricane Irma. All households will need to income qualify. There are three programs available: disaster mitigation, owner occupied rehabilitation and demolition and replacement of site built mobile/manufactured housing.
Those that income qualify may be reimbursed for expenses for repairs that have already been paid and/or for planned repairs. Qualified home owners may utilize these funds for insurance deductible reimbursement.
Applications are taken daily at Community and Human Services, 3339 Tamiami Trail East, Room 211, Naples, Florida 34112.
Additionally, the following temporary field offices are being established beginning on Wednesday, October 11 and continuing through Wednesday, October 18.
