Coconut Creek Mayor Organizers Forum for Residents to Learn How to Reduce Homeowners Insurance Rates

COCONUT CREEK, FL – With Floridians paying the highest homeowners insurance rates in the nation, Coconut Creek Mayor Josh Rydell is hosting a local forum next month on ways to save money on insurance.
Rydell said he's inviting city homeowners to the event at 6 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the city's Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.
The mayor plans to have local business owners specializing in insurance educate residents on what they can do to lower the rates.
The experts will offer "concepts to help us," he said at last week's city commission meeting.
Data from Insurance Information Institute found that Floridians are paying the nation's highest average home insurance premium at $6,000 a year in 2023 – and that's up 42 percent from 2022.
The average annual U.S. home insurance premium is $1,700, which is up 11 percent from 2022, according to the data.**BULLSEYE
The mayor added that he hopes local residents can work with state legislators to highlight their struggles in paying the rising premiums as a way to convince insurance regulators to push for lower rates.
