CNO Financial Group Named Second Healthiest Workplace in America

Obesity, Fitness & Wellness Week

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Obesity, Fitness & Wellness Week -- CNO Financial Group, a holding company for several national life and health insurers that serve middle-income working Americans and retirees, placed second in the 2016 Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America, an awards program presented by Springbuck (see also CNO Financial Group).

This is the third consecutive year that CNO Financial Group has been recognized for its commitment to employee health and for achieving exceptional and sustainable success through a broad range of corporate wellness programs and employee wellness initiatives. This year, over 5,000 employers applied for the Award nationally.

"Health and wellness are part of our company's fabric," said Ed Bonach, CEO of CNO. "We will continue to provide our associates the support and resources they need to succeed professionally and live healthy, well-balanced lives. We are honored to be recognized nationally for the third straight year for our efforts to create a culture of health."

The annual award recognizes organizations of all sizes, regions and industries. Companies selected to the list have comprehensive wellness policies in place, and demonstrate vision and leadership related to the organization's role in the broader health care environment.

"Year after year, we see strong growth and continued investment in worksite wellness programs," noted Rod Reasen, CEO of Springbuk, the scoring engine behind the national Healthiest Employer Awards Program. "These 100 organizations are the best of the best. Their efforts are improving the health of their workforce and community."

Award applicants were evaluated with the proprietary Healthiest Employer Index, a 1-100 metric for wellness programming, across six key categories: Vision, Culture/Engagement, Learning, Expertise, Metrics and Technology. The selected organizations have achieved lasting success through a wide array of employee wellness initiatives and corporate wellness programs.

CNO Financial was also recently recognized by the National Business Group on Health for having one of the top five best workforce well-being programs in the nation.
