Clearsurance Publishes The Best Consumer-Rated Car, Homeowners and Renters Insurance Companies for 2019

Clearsurance, the unbiased research and shopping website for insurance consumers, today published the best car, homeowners and renters insurance companies for 2019 based exclusively on customer feedback, ratings and reviews.

The top insurance company lists are Clearsurance's second annual and are based on nearly 50,000 customer reviews of car, homeowners and renters insurance companies from 2018. All companies with at least 100 reviews for that product line were eligible to be ranked. The ranking takes into account a customer's overall experience, the company's customer service, the policyholder's intent to renew, as well as their likelihood to recommend the company to a friend.

"These best insurance rankings are the embodiment of consumers empowering other insurance consumers by sharing their insurance experiences," said Michael Crowe, CEO and co-founder of Clearsurance. USAA, an insurance company only eligible to active and former military members and their families, garnered the top spot across all three lines of insurance. Consumers rated USAA a 4.72 out of 5 stars for car insurance based on more than 2,000 reviews over the past year.

Amica Mutual Insurance Company and Erie Insurance Group each scored well for both car and homeowners insurance. Amica ranked No. 2 for homeowners insurance while placing fourth on the list of best car insurance companies for 2019. Erie, meanwhile, ranked No. 3 for best car and best homeowners insurance.

State Farm joined USAA as the only other company to earn a spot on all three lists.
