HARSH WINTER CONDITIONS UNDERWAY. BREEZY IN THE VALLEY. CHECK OUT THIS SKY CAM FROM OUR SKY CAM NETWORK OVER THE CITY OF SACRAMENTO. MONITORING AREAS OF RAIN ACROSS THE VALLEY. IN SACRAMENTO, WE HAVE HAD GUSTS THIS EVENING IN EXCESS OF 40 MILES PER HOUR. PEAK AT 43. THEN YOU HEAD UP INTO THE SIERRA. THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL WIDE-OUT CONDITIONS. WHEN THE WINDS LET UP A LITTLE BIT, YOU CAN MAKE OUT AND SEE WHAT IS THERE IN THE DISTANCE. RIGHT NOW YOU CAN'T. AND HERE IS ANOTHER SHOT ALONG I-80 BY DONNER LAKE ROAD. LOOK AT THIS ROADWAY. YOU CAN GIVE IT PERSPECTIVE LOOKING AT THE LIGHTS OF THE BLOWING SNOW. AND AS THE TEMPERATURES DROP OFF, THE SNOW BECOMES MORE FLUFFY. RIGHT? SO IT IS EASIER TO BLOW AROUND AND DRIFT. YOU CAN SEE THE TREES SWAYING WITH THE WIND. AND WE ARE SEEING WIND REPORTS ACROSS THE SIERRA BETWEEN 60 TO 80 MILES PER HOUR. A LOT OF THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. BRINGING VISIBILITY DOWN NEAR ZERO. SO, LIVE RADAR VERY HEAVY SNOW ONGOING. WE ARE PRETTY MUCH IN THE THICK OF IT RIGHT NOW. ACROSS THE SIERRA. WITH HEAVY SNOW. ALSO, BANDS OF RAINFALL CONTINUE TO MAKE ITS WAY THROUGH ACROSS THE FOOTHILLS. BUT THE SNOW LEVELS TODAY HAVE BEEN LOWERING NOW. HOVERING JUST AT OR ABOVE 4,000 FEET IN ELEVATION. COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF SNOW SET TO FALL OVER THE SIERRA. JUST TONIGHT ALONE. NOW, IN RED, ON THIS VISIBILITY MAP IN RED, THIS IS WHERE VISIBILITY IS DOWN NEAR ZERO. THERE ARE GAUGES BY PLACERVILLE, HALF MILE VISIBILITY. WHERE YOU SEE RED, THAT IS WHERE WE HAVE TRUE WHITE-OUT CONDITIONS IN PLACE ACROSS THE SIERRA WITH THE WINDS THAT HAVE BEEN PICKING UP. THEY HAVE BEEN FLUCTUATING. IN TRUCKEE, 68 MILE-PER-HOUR. TAHOE, DONNER, 64 MILES PER HOUR. ALONG THE RIDGE, THE SIERRA, MANY RESORTS REPORTING WIND GUSTS AT THE MOUNTAIN PEAKS WELL IN EXCESS OF 100 MILES PER HOUR HUNDRED MILES PER HOUR. POWER OUTAGES ACROSS THE SIERRA WITH THE HIGH WINDS COUPLED WITH HEAVY SNOW. TOMORROW, SNOW LEVELS GET CLOSER DOWN TO 3,000. THEN LOWERING FURTHER TO 1500 FEET. AND, THAT WILL BRING SOME MINOR ACCUMULATION TO THE MINOR ELEVATIONS. THE BULK OF THIS WILL BE HOVERING AT AND ABOVE 3,000 FEET. AS WE GO THROUGH SUNDAY, STILL HOLDING ONTO LOWER LEVEL SNOWFALL. SHOWERS IN PLACE WITH RUMBLES OF THUNDER AS WELL. THE MEAT OF THE STORE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING. TOMORROW WILL BE VARYING IN INTENSITY QUITE A BIT. WE ARE LOOKING AT ADDITIONAL SNOW IN MULTIPLE FEET. BY THE TIME IT IS ALL SAID AND DONE. THE STORM WILL BE CLEARING OUT. AND, STILL, A WHILE TO GO FOR REMOVAL. A LOT TO KEEP TRACK OF WITH THE WINTER STORM IN PLACE.

THIS IS KEEPING US BUSY. KEEPING YOU BUSY. BOY, HAVE WE BEEN TRACKING IT, DOING AN AWESOME JOB. THANK YOU, NIC.
