BRIEF: Woman charged with DUI in fatal crash on Lake Shore Drive

March 16--A woman has been charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence after a fatal two-car crash on Lake Shore Drive, police said.
About 1:15 a.m. on March 10, a northbound car made make a left turn onto Balbo Drive and crashed into another car that was southbound on Lake Shore Drive, police said.
The northbound car flipped over, injuring people.
The driver of the car, Chyna Bell, 29, was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where her blood alcohol content was recorded at .08.
A 28-year-old passenger was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, and another man, 27, was pronounced dead at Northwestern, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle refused medical help at the scene.
Bell, of the 7500 block of South Kingston Avenue, was charged with misdemeanor DUI. She was also cited for driving a vehicle with no insurance and making an improper left turn, police said.
Bell was scheduled to appear April 25 in traffic court.
