BRIEF: Wilkes nursing students stage ‘flash mob’ at Boscov’s
Times Leader (Wilkes-Barre, PA)
Feb. 29--WILKES-BARRE -- A group of Wilkes University nursing students hosted a flash mob and information panel Friday at Boscov's department store in honor of Heart Health Month. Baltimore Life Insurance and the American Red Cross were also in attendance.
The future nurses hosted an interactive demonstration on performing hands-only CPR, in which those in attendance were invited to practice what they've learned on a mannequin. They also provided information in both English and Spanish regarding heart safety.
The nursing students performed the flash mob to the hit Bee Gees song "Stayin' Alive."
The American Red Cross provided information about blood donations, emergency preparedness, first aid and CPR training and volunteer opportunities. Baltimore Life conducted "Toss the Junk" where participants were encouraged to pick out fast food and junk food containers to test their basketball skills.
