BRIEF: Two treated for smoke inhalation after Rochester Township fire
Beaver County Times (PA)
May 23--ROCHESTER TWP. -- Up to five people were displaced from a township house fire Monday morning.
Emergency crews were dispatched to 307 Henon Ave. around 5 a.m., Rochester Fire Chief Mike Mamone Jr. said. The fire may have been caused by an electrical malfunction, he said.
A married couple was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, and their grown son drove himself to the hospital to be checked out, Mamone said. Two other people were reportedly living in the basement of the home, but only one man was there at the time of the fire, Mamone said.
Several pets perished in the fire, including a dog, a cat and a rabbit.
Mamone estimated there to be $20,000 in damage. There was no renters insurance or homeowners insurance policy on the home, he said.
In addition to the Rochester Fire Department, Beaver Falls, Bridgewater and New Brighton assisted at the scene.
