BRIEF: Suspect in deadly Denver hit-and-run arrested, vehicle found

May 31--The suspect in a deadly hit-and-run of a pedestrian was arrested Tuesday, Denver police say, canceling the widely broadcast Medina Alert.

Isaac Paz, 22, faces one felony charge of duty in accident involving death and misdemeanor charges of driving without a valid license and without proof of insurance, Denver County Sheriff's Department records show.

He was released from the Denver County Jail after posting a $5,000 bond.

After the fatal crash at West Evans Avenue and South Bryant Street, multiple signs along Interstate 25 asked travelers to call 911 if they saw a red 2001 Chevrolet sedan.

Killed was Victor Barela, 59, said police spokesman Doug Schepman.

Investigators found the Chevrolet in Littleton late Wednesday or early Thursday after a watchful neighbor called police, said police spokeswoman Christine Downs.
