St. Cloud Times (MN)
Dec. 07--A St. Cloud man was taken to the emergency room after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car.
St. Cloud Police Sgt. Jason Burke said officers were called to the intersection of Seventh St. SE and Kilian Blvd. SE around 6:15 p.m. Friday night with a report of a car hitting a bicyclist.
Officers said 26-year-old Marcus Albin Diedrich of Waite Park was heading west on Seventh St. SE, when he had attempted to make a left turn onto Kilian Blvd. While Diedrich was trying to complete the turn, his car struck a bike operated by 21-year-old Christopher Lee Dosch of St. Cloud. Officers said Dosch was biking on the sidewalk while traveling east on Seventh St. SE at the time of the collision.
Burke said Dosch told officers his bike was equipped with lights.
Dosch was taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Diedrich was cited for failing to yield, providing no proof of insurance and having no insurance.
