BRIEF: St. Cloud driver falls asleep, damages 3 garages in crash

Aug. 17--ST. CLOUD -- A 31-year-old St. Cloud man fell asleep while driving and crashed early Friday morning, damaging three garages and another vehicle, according to the St. Cloud Police Department.
Auguste Bentrand Tchinda was travelling west on the 2300 block of 15th Street North around 2:50 a.m. Friday when he fell asleep and left the roadway, police said.
Tchinda drove through a yard and crashed into two garages and a vehicle that was parked in the second garage that was subsequently pushed into an adjoining third garage, police said. No one was injured in the crash, but both vehicles and the three garages sustained substantial damage.
Police said Tchinda was not under the influence of anything. Tchinda was issued a citation for careless driving and no insurance.
