Aug. 10--CLINTON -- A person was injured Tuesday in a house fire in Clinton.
The Clinton Fire Department on Tuesday confirmed an occupant of a home at 714 S. Eighth St. was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries as the result of a fire.
All fire units were dispatched at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday to the residence, owned by Timothy and Myrna Miracle, for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters could see heavy smoke and flames coming out of the front porch windows of the one story wood-frame structure.
The fire was under control in approximately 30 minutes with heavy damage to the home. The owners were covered by insurance and the family pets escaped without any harm.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Clinton Fire Department. The Gateway Area Chapter of the American Red Cross helped the displaced occupants.
The department responded with two engines, one ladder truck, two paramedic ambulances, one command vehicle and 12 personnel.
