Wisconsin State Journal (Madison, WI)
Sept. 25--A Madison man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, fourth offense, following a car-motorcycle crash on the East Side Thursday afternoon, Madison police are reporting.
Joseph D. Deang, 52, was also arrested for operating while revoked, failure to have insurance and failure to yield from a stop sign after witnesses told police that they saw a car run a stop sign at Oak Street and pull onto traffic lanes on East Washington Ave., according to the Madison police report. A motorcyle that was being driven on East Washington Ave., by an unidentified 58-year-old man from Sun Prairie, ran into the car and ended up on the pavement, the report said. It also said the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses also told police that they saw a man later identified as Deang toss a large beer can in a trash container immediately following the crash that occurred around 1:18, the report said. A 32-ounce can of beer was recovered by police, the report said.
