BRIEF: Anthem To Continue Offering Obamacare Plans In Connecticut, Sources Say

Sept. 13--Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will continue to offer plans on Access Health Connecticut, sources said Wednesday.

The health insurer, one of two that sold Obamacare coverage in Connecticut this year, had until Friday to tell the state's health insurance exchange whether it would continue to offer plans in 2018.

While Anthem has announced withdrawals from other states where it offered plans this year, it will not do so from Connecticut's market, sources said.

Attempts to reach the state's other carrier, ConnectiCare, were unsuccessful Wednesday.

Both companies have requested double-digit rate increases, which are under review by the Connecticut Insurance Department.
