Jan. 22--EAST FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP -- The cause of a fire that destroyed a camper trailer near Cochranton late Sunday afternoon is under investigation by Cochranton fire officials.
Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department was called out to Griffin Road in East Fairfield Township after the 25-foot trailer was noticed on fire around 4:50 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on the fire scene, about two miles north of Cochranton, to find the camper engulfed in flames, according to Chief Scott Schell of Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department.
Owners Eric Dolan and Christine Adams, who live in the camper trailer, weren't home at the time as they had gone to Cochranton to do some errands, Schell said.
The cause of the fire isn't considered suspicious, but is under investigation.
"Electrical issues are suspected, but we want to look at it in the light of day tomorrow," Schell said Sunday.
The camper and its contents were a loss, but there were no injuries. The couple had insurance on the camper, Schell said. The American Red Cross and family members are assisting Dolan and Adams.
Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department returned to service around 6 p.m.
