Amerigroup Continues Commitment to Texans with SilverSneakers Benefit

This is part of Amerigroup ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of its current members and those Amerigroup hopes to have the privilege of serving in the future. SilverSneakers - offered by Tivity Health - is a fitness program tailored to older adults and is celebrating 25 years of partnering with consumers to help them achieve better health.

Amerigroup members have expressed time and again that their involvement in SilverSneakers has made a significant impact on their health and well-being.

"My Amerigroup Medicare Advantage plan really changed my life for the better when it introduced me to the SilverSneakers program - the first fitness program or gym I've attended in my life," said Ella Mae Boston, an Amerigroup member and active SilverSneakers participant from Houston, TX. "I've lost weight and gained a lot of mobility from my participation in SilverSneakers. Those are the two accomplishments I'm most proud of. I've also met a lot of different people through the SilverSneakers program and made great, new friends."

SilverSneakers by Tivity Health teams up with healthcare stakeholders, such as Amerigroup, to help millions of baby boomers and beyond meet their personal goals and overcome health stereotypes. The program helps older adults take greater control of their health by engaging participants in more frequent exercise, strength training, aerobics, and flexibility training through a variety of venues and programming.
