AM Best Senior Director to Discuss Updated Best’s Credit Rating Methodology at DWS Americas Insurance Gathering 2019

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AM Best Senior Director Ken Johnson will lead a session on Best’s Credit Rating Methodology and its impact since its 2017 update on life/annuity insurance companies at DWS Americas Insurance Gathering 2019, taking place Mar. 27-28, 2019, at The Sanctuary Hotel at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, SC.

Johnson’s session, titled, “The Impact on AM Best’s New Rating Methodology and BCAR on Investment Portfolios,” will take place Mar. 27 at 2:45 p.m. (EDT), and provide an overview of AM Best’s core rating methodology, which was updated in late 2017. How AM Best applies its methodology to an insurer’s investment allocations and capabilities, and how different asset classes are treated, also will be a focus of the session. Johnson manages a team of senior financial analysts and team leaders in the role of preparing financial rating recommendations for the life/annuity industry, as well as serves on various internal working groups, including assisting with investment analysis.
