Health plan exec Scott Powers to lead Medicare Advantage company’s day-to-day business operations

ORANGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Alignment Healthcare, a population health-focused organization, announced today that Scott Powers has joined the company as its new president and chief operating officer (COO).

With extensive management experience, Powers brings valuable leadership to Alignment’s executive team during a period of rapid growth. As president and COO, Powers will be responsible for overall operational performance and outcomes for the company.

Prior to joining Alignment, Powers was the president of health plan operations at Cambia Health Solutions. He joined the organization in 2010 as vice president of strategic finance and assumed responsibilities for operational activities of the insurance division in 2011, rising to the post of chief operating officer before taking on his most recent role in 2015. Before joining Cambia, Powers was a partner and managing director of Alvarez & Marsal, LLC; director of finance at Intel Corp.; and CEO of Commerce Route, Inc.

He has a bachelor's degree in finance and an MBA, both from Arizona State University.
