AIDS Institute: Rachel Klein Named National Association of Insurance Commissioners Consumer Representative

WASHINGTON, Jan. 26 (TNSPer) -- The AIDS Institute issued the following news release:

Rachel Klein, The AIDS Institute's deputy executive director, has been named as a consumer liaison representative to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) for 2021 and 2022. In this position, Rachel will provide important guidance to state insurance commissioners who regulate commercial health insurance across the United States.

"We thank NAIC for selecting Rachel to participate in this vital advisory body," said Michael Ruppal, executive director of The AIDS Institute.

"Ensuring consumer and patient voices are heard in NAIC's work will help make insurance plans more equitable for all. Rachel's in-depth knowledge of how insurance practices impact people living chronic and complex medical conditions, like HIV and viral hepatitis, will be a great resource for NAIC. Rachel will be strong voice to protect the interests of all patients."

NAIC represents the chief insurance regulators in each state and territory in the United States and provides best practices and regulatory guidance for NAIC members. NAIC's Consumer Liaison Program provides advice and counsel to NAIC members in order to protect the interest of insurance consumers.
