AgCarolina Farm Credit Announces Employee Donation to Hurricane Relief Efforts

Targeted News Service (Press Releases)

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 16 -- AgCarolina Farm Credit issued the following news release:

AgCarolina Farm Credit, in conjunction with Cape Fear Farm Credit and Carolina Farm Credit, is proud to announce the donation of $10,640 from employees for Hurricane Matthew relief efforts in North Carolina.

A "Jeans for a Cause" fundraiser was available to employees during the fourth quarter of 2016. Participating employees paid five dollars each Friday to wear jeans with proceeds being donated to Hurricane Matthew relief efforts. Over 235 employees participated in the fundraiser throughout the state of North Carolina.

The donation is the sum of monetary gifts from employees of each of the three Farm Credit Associations of NC. The CEOs of AgCarolina Farm Credit, Cape Fear Farm Credit, and Carolina Farm Credit are Dave Corum, Brad Cornelius, and Vance Dalton respectively. They issued the following joint statement regarding the Jeans for a Cause employee fundraiser:

"Jeans for a Cause is the product of a brainstorm by our employees of how we could help those impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Matthew. This donation is a clear representation of the commitment of our employees to serve our communities and fellow North Carolinians. At Farm Credit, we are proud to serve customers in the agricultural and rural communities of our state. As the CEOs of the Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina, it is truly an honor to represent our employees who consistently find ways to create a positive impact on fellow citizens."

Hurricane Matthew impacted many of the people, highways, homes, businesses, and farming operations throughout central and eastern North Carolina. The Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina serve many of the areas affected by the disaster. The mission of the Farm Credit System is to be there for the agricultural and rural communities through good times and bad.

The Farm Credit Associations of NC are AgCarolina Farm Credit, Cape Fear Farm Credit, and Carolina Farm Credit. They are farmer owned financial cooperatives with headquarters in Raleigh, Fayetteville, and Statesville respectively. They are the leading provider of credit to farmers in North Carolina. The Associations have over $3.5 billion in loans and commitments outstanding to over 14,500 North Carolina farmers. Loans are made to finance land, homes, farm buildings, operating expenses, livestock and equipment, as well as other purposes. Credit life insurance, crop insurance, appraisal services, and leasing are also available through the Farm Credit Associations of NC.
