Aetna Relocating Jacksonville Operations to Southside Boulevard Complex

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Insurance Weekly News -- Aetna (NYSE: AET) announced that it will relocate its downtown Jacksonville operations to a new office at 9000 Southside Boulevard. The move from the 841 Prudential Drive facility will take place in stages beginning in mid-2017.

"Aetna cherishes its close relationship with the city of Jacksonville," said Mark LaBorde, Aetna's senior vice president of enterprise sales, product and marketing. "As we take steps to address our future needs, we're very pleased that we'll be staying in Jacksonville and continuing our commitment to the local community and its organizations."

The Southside Boulevard location is well-equipped to support Aetna's business objectives, providing employees with many additional amenities, LaBorde said.

"We want to create a new office environment that promotes employee well-being while supporting Aetna's culture and business requirements," LaBorde said. There are currently about 800 Aetna employees at the Prudential Drive facility. The site was selected with potential employment growth in mind.
