Acrisure Names D. Michael Sherman President

CALEDONIA, Mich., April 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Acrisure, LLC, a rapidly growing U.S. consulting and insurance broker, today announced that D. Michael Sherman has been named President. Mr. Sherman joined Acrisure in January as a strategic advisor, bringing over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry to the company.

Mr. Sherman will continue to report directly to Greg Williams, Acrisure's Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Williams, who previously held the additional title of President, will continue to be responsible for the overall oversight of Acrisure.

Mr. Williams, said, "This is an appropriate time to create a separate position of President, and Mike is extremely qualified to assume this role. He will continue to apply his vast operations and leadership experience as we further build Acrisure into the preferred provider of insurance solutions. Mike will also assist us as we continue to identify strategic acquisitions around the globe."

Mr. Sherman began his career at insurance brokerage Dawson Insurance, Inc. in 1978, ultimately serving as Chief Executive Officer beginning in 1986. He continued as Dawson Platform Chairman and CEO, following its sale to AssuredPartners in 2012 as well as serving as Vice Chairman of AssuredPartners, Inc. He earned his B.A. from Alma College in Alma, Michigan and received his MBA from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Mr. Sherman's new position is effective immediately.
