A.M. Best Offers Free Digital Edition of the July 2018 Issue of Best’s Review; Profiles of Insurance Industry Chief Executive Officers Examined
Kicking off the Leaders section is a look at the insurance industry’s chief executive officers (CEO). In CEO in Transition, Best’s Review examines the biographical information of the men and women who head the top 20 property/casualty companies, top 20 life/health companies and top 10 global brokers to discover the profile of the insurance CEO today and the types of candidates being hired.
On the surface, the profile of the insurance leader is unsurprising. Of the CEOs analyzed, 96% were men, 94% were white and most were in their late 50s. A deeper dive into the statistics and hiring trends shows an industry in transformation.
Nearly 25% of the insurance CEOs reviewed were appointed in the last two years, and more than a third were hired within the last three. Both of the female CEOs in the pool were appointed in the last two years.
