Woman returns to jail [Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Ga.]

April 26--THOMASVILLE -- A 27-year-old woman released from the Thomas County Jail in November 2011 is back behind bars, and a federal indictment is expected in her case.

People who put up collateral for Sabreena Lorraine Wiley's$35,000 bond in November withdrew the collateral when they learned the suspect might be leaving the state, according to a Thomas County Sheriff's Office investigator.

The sheriff's office received a complaint from Wiley's former employer, Taylor Beneºfit Resource, an insurance business, in November.

"They found out she had made out several checks to herself, money she was not entitled to," said Lt. Tim Watkins, sheriff's office chief investigator.

Criminal investigations division investigators looked at the business' banking records.

"We discovered she had written over $100,000 in checks to herself," Watkins said.

After finding her packing a rental trailer to move to Tampa, Fla., investigators interviewed Wiley, who admitted taking the money, Watkins explained.

Because of bank fraud and the amount of money involved, the Albany office of the U.S. Secret Service entered the case.

The alleged theft took place between March 21 and Nov. 22, 2011. Wiley is charged with theft by conversion.

In addition to the federal indictment, a Thomas County indictment also will be considered in the case.

Wiley was arrested April 18 in Valrico, Fla., a Tampa suburb.
