WPS Health Insurance, a Leading Provider of Individual Health Insurance, Begins American Heart Month with Go Red for Women

WPS Health Insurance, Wisconsin’s leading not-for-profit health insurer and provider of affordable group and individual health insurance, is participating in the American Heart Association’s 10th annual “Go Red for Women” campaign on Feb. 1.

Go Red for Women is promoted locally by the South Central Wisconsin Chapter of the American Heart Association. WPS employees will join Americans across the country to celebrate National Wear Red Day® to increase awareness about heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women.

“Go Red for Women gives us a great opportunity to raise awareness among our employees and our community about heart-related illnesses that can strike women,” said Christine Russell, vice president of government relations for WPS and chairperson of the Go Red for Women luncheon.

WPS employees were invited to participate, along with others in the Madison community, in the Madison Goes Red Lighting Party on Jan. 31 at the Overture Center for the Arts to kick off American Heart Month. In addition, outdoor lighting on the WPS campus has been changed to red for the month of February.
