W. R. Berkley Appoints Wayne H. Carter, III President of Berkley Program Specialists

W. R. Berkley Corp. announced the appointment of Wayne H. Carter, III as president of Berkley Program Specialists, a W. R. Berkley Company.
The appointment is effective immediately.
According to a release, based in Naperville, Illinois, Berkley Program Specialists is a program management company offering both admitted and non-admitted insurance support for commercial program administrators and in-house program managers with specialized insurance expertise. Carter succeeds John Diem, who is retiring.
Carter has more than 35 years of experience in the property casualty insurance industry, notably in underwriting, risk management and distribution. Most recently, he served as the president and chief executive officer of a managing general underwriter (MGU) and program administrator specializing in professional liability insurance programs.
William R. Berkley, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of W. R. Berkley Corp., commented, "With a background in many aspects of the program business, Wayne is particularly suited to take on the leadership of Berkley Program Specialists, and we welcome him to this role. We thank John for his substantial contributions to W. R. Berkley Corp. and wish him well in his retirement."
