Ulrich Wallin, CEO of Hannover Re, to deliver Keynote Address on Insurance-Linked Securities and Insurance Risk Transfer
NEW YORK & LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Finance IQ, a division of IQPC, announces Ulrich Wallin, CEO of Hannover Re will present the opening keynote address at the 2nd Insurance Linked Securities Summit Europe. This event, taking place April 26-28, 2010 in London, UK gathers investors to discuss strategic investments in cat bonds, life and other insurance-linked securities.
The development of EU-wide market loss indices should expand the non-life market for ILS and industry loss warranties by enabling transparency and more standardized instruments. On the life side, the shifting regulatory dynamics and new innovative developments in synthetics continues to broaden the investor base. For these reasons and others, the stage is set for significant growth in 2010 for both the ILS and life markets in Europe.
Mr. Wallin, who took over as CEO of Hannover Re in July 2009, brings over 28 years of reinsurance experience to the session “ILS and the Future of Insurance Risk Transfer: A Vision of the Market in 2015” on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. This discussion will examine:
- The changing paradigm for insurance risk transfer in light of the global economic recovery
- Considerations on the future of insurance-linked securities and other forms of alternative risk transfer
- The future role of the global reinsurance industry in the transfer, mitigation and securitization of risk
Other keynotes during the ILS Summit Europe will be led by Thomas Hess, Chief Economist at Swiss Re and Andrew Maskrey, Chief of Disaster Risk Reduction at The United Nations.
Participating organizations include PGGM, AIR Worldwide, Fermat Capital, Elementum Advisors, University of Oxford, London School of Economics, AXA Investment Management, BVDZ, Coventry, BSX, Centurion Fund Managers and many others.
