UPMC WorkPartners Announces New Commercial Workers’ Compensation Product
PITTSBURGH, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- UPMC WorkPartners, part of the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, today announced a new Workers' Compensation product line offering dollar one coverage for Pennsylvania companies.
"Since we began operations in 1997, WorkPartners has been providing expert claims management to self-insured companies across the region," said David M. Weir, President of WorkPartners. "Now, with our new Commercial Workers' Compensation product, fully-insured employers in Pennsylvania can have the same type of expert claims management along with our proven track record in managing workers' compensation and overall health and productivity in the workplace."
"Health care reform is raising awareness in the employer community to not only control costs, but to find the right business partners that can provide expertise, access, and peace of mind for employees and employers," said Patrick Haughey, Senior Director of Workers' Compensation at WorkPartners.
"The differentiator that sets WorkPartners apart from other workers' compensation carriers in Pennsylvania is our unsurpassed comprehensive network of resources focused on the individual employee's health and well-being," Haughey said. "Our return to work and vocational experts, combined with our robust medical network, offer employers a strategic approach to absence management yielding better care and better outcomes."
WorkPartners has already begun providing details about the new services to western Pennsylvania brokers. "We are very excited about the initial response from the broker community. There has been a good deal of initial interest, including quote submissions for area employers," Haughey said.
Last summer, WorkPartners unveiled Leave Management services to help employers better manage absences related to the Family Medical Leave Act, Military Leave, and other employer-sponsored leaves.
"Our new Commercial Workers' Compensation services are the latest offering in our expanding set of services aimed at providing health and productivity solutions to employers," said David Weir.
"With nearly 14 years as a Third Party Administrator for some of the largest employers in the region, WorkPartners provides organizations with the expertise they need to successfully develop, manage, and maintain effective health and productivity strategies. Our medical network and in-house medical resources, including productivity-focused nurses and physicians, are fully focused on providing the best possible care for their employees."
