Travel Insurance Coverage for Emergency Evacuation in a Government or Social Upheaval is Included in Travel Insured’s WTP Gold Plan
When the sudden outbreak of a government or social upheaval in a destination takes place, Travel Insured’s WTP Gold Plan includes Emergency Political Evacuation Services to cover costs of getting insured travelers to safety and home.
(PRWEB) January 8, 2010 -- Travel Insurance coverage may protect against an act of terrorism, but what about the sudden outbreak of a political emergency or social upheaval? When this occurs anywhere in a destination country it can be a frightening risk from which travelers want and need immediate evacuation. Leaving a country quickly can be made more complicated and expensive if a destination’s airports are disrupted by upheaval, requiring evacuation over land or water to safety.
How Political Evacuation from Travel Insured Works
Travel Insured International includes Political Evacuation Services exclusively in our Worldwide Trip Protector Gold Plan. No travel insurance option is required to receive this coverage. In the event of a political emergency situation due to government or social upheaval while traveling in a foreign country, the insured traveler or travelers will be evacuated home, or to the nearest place of safety and then home, by Travel Insured’s Assistance Company. All reasonable expenses for transportation to the place of safety and to the insured’s resident country are covered up to $100,000.
Evacuation arrangements are made using the most appropriate and economical means available to provide for the insured’s health and safety. If an evacuation is impossible due to hostile conditions, Travel Insured’s Assistance Company will use security resources to maintain contact with the insured travelers until evacuation becomes possible or until the political emergency is concluded. One requirement for the coverage to apply is that the Emergency Evacuation Services be coordinated by the Assistance Company and not rendered without the company’s coordination or approval.
Worldwide Emergency Assistance
Political Evacuation Services is part of a suite of Worldwide Emergency Travel Assistance Services available 24/7 anywhere the insured passenger travels under the Worldwide Trip Protector Gold Plan. Services can include Medical Evacuation, Medically Necessary Repatriation and Repatriation of Remains, Medical or Legal Referrals, Hospital Admission Guarantee, Translation Services, Lost Baggage Retrieval, Passport and Visa Information, Emergency Cash Advance or Bail Bond, and Replacement of Prescriptions or Eyeglasses. Depending upon the services rendered, some may be fully prepaid or reimbursed under plan coverage, such as Emergency Medical Protection included in the WTP Gold Plan. Payment for other Emergency Assistance Services arranged for or rendered by the Assistance Company may be the final responsibility of the insured traveler.
